Description
The source of a large part of the losses in the operation of electrical ma-chines is the sheet metal package. The basic electromagnetic properties and losses are already determined during the production of the semi-finished products, the sheet metal coils. The further processing of the electrical sheet into a stator or rotor laminate generates additional production-induced losses through separation and joining processes.
The subject of the research work was different separation and joining processes, which were varied in their process parameters in order to subsequently measure the electromagnetic properties. The resulting maximum differences of the respective process parameters represent a potential for optimised production in line with the operating point, since lower losses Δ𝑃𝑉,𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙 and thus a higher efficiency can be achieved here through appropriate parameter setting during operation.
A new measurement method, which records the change in relative permeability due to production influences, was successfully evaluated and qualified by the research work. Using methods of high-frequency material testing, the complex permeability is used as a basis for quality assessment. With the presented measurement method, no manual application of windings is necessary. The test specimens can be automatically inserted into the measuring device and measured. The measurement results are directly available to the QMS and ERP/MES in electronic form for further processing.
