Description
During the time of National Socialism, more than 160 degree revocation procedures were conducted at Erlangen University. The Faculty of Medicine considered more than 30 cases. Medical doctors, who had legitimately gained their degrees, were stripped of their Ph.Ds, because, in the view of the state, they were esteemed „unworthy of carrying a title conferred by a German university“. The majority of the divestitures were politically motivated.
