Description
When determining the measurement uncertainty by simulation, the surface form is often also taken into account. For this purpose, the in-fluence of its undersampling is determined during the acquisition of the workpiece surface. This is done by virtual probing. The basis for this is a model adapted to the surface. Different ways to create the surface models are shown. The surface models are based on theoretical models of surface formation during manufacturing or are derived from stylus measurements on representative surfaces. In these surface models, the effects arising during probing (flattening, filter effect of the probe element) are taken into account. The final model is adapted to the measurement parameters and can be used to determine the measurement uncertainty with the virtual coordinate measuring machine (‘VCMM’).
