Komparative Korrelativkonstruktionen im Deutschen: Wandel und Variation aus konstruktionsgrammatischer Sicht

This study deals with the development of the so-called german comparative correlative constructions (CC) such as Je mehr ich esse, desto dicker werde ich 'The more I eat, the fatter I get'. In order to investigate the development, several corpus-based studies were carried out from diachronic as well as synchronic perspective. The results are analyzed within the field of construction grammar. One of the relevant results from this study is that the development of the literacy in the history of german language leads to the constructionalization and constructional change of german CC.
